Our community garden is about more than growing vegetables. We help people to grow their skills, learn new things and improve their leadership skills. Our growing sessions are very popular and we have always equally welcomed people who have knowledge to share as well as those who want to learn and grow for the very first time.
We realised people wanted to learn and share skills above and beyond gardening, so we started running monthly Skill Share Sessions, where anyone can showcase their knowledge, or hobbies. The skill share events are fun and informal, a group of people chatting about something they find interesting, sharing knowledge and demonstrating.
We are always keen to hear from new people what their interests are and what knowledge they have to share with others. CONTACT us today if you have an idea, we would love to hear from you!
Skill Share themes can be on anything from gardening, cooking, photography, animal care, arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, upcycling, DIY and IT skills.
Upcoming skill shares are advertised in our newsletter, on our Home page and Facebook page.
In 2022 we started creating online “resources” so learning from our skill shares can be accessed online. These are based on previous skill share sessions and our knowledge of community growing.
See here for information on CLIMATE ACTION and how these activities help to reduce C02 emissions.
